Guidelines for Abstract Submission

The scientific program will include keynote lectures, symposia, paper presentations, posters, workshops, and round table discussions, all of which will enable participants to share knowledge, professional experiences and expertise, and to learn from each other.

The conference language will be English. A French strand will be arranged in one or two rooms.

Submission of abstracts online from 1 December 2018 to 8 March 2019.
The Scientific Committee will let first authors know by 1 April 2019 whether their proposal is accepted.

Authors of rejected abstract submissions may be offered the opportunity to present in a different format.

Each person can submit a maximum of 2 first authored papers.

First authors are conference registrants who present the paper alone or with co-presenters.
Co-presenters are conference registrants as well. They cannot register as accompanying persons.

Completed registration of the first author and payment received by 15 April 2019 are required for the entry of a paper in the Conference Program and the Book of Abstracts.

Abstract Length

(90 minutes:
15 to 20 min. per presentation.
Allow time for discussion)


3 or 4 oral presentations on a specific theme, issue, or question

Overview: 100 words.

This should include a summary of the overarching theme of the symposium


Each presenter’s abstract: 200 words

These should contain a concise summary and include a brief rationale, an outline of the methodology, key findings and implications

(20 minutes:
15 min. presentation,
5 min. discussion)

Research/case study/ professional practice presentation.

200 words

This should contain a concise summary and include a brief rationale, an outline of the methodology, key findings and implications

Poster Presentations
(90 minutes)

Presentation in poster form. Posters may contain accounts of research projects, case studies or innovations in professional practice.


Posters will be presented for 90 min. Poster authors are on site during this time frame.

200 words

Presenters will prepare a poster which will contain a concise summary including a brief rationale, an outline of the methodology, key findings and implications.


Maximum poster size:
200 cm high, 100 cm wide

(90 minutes)

Workshops help participants to increase their knowledge and skills in a particular area of interest. Workshops should include both didactic and practical or experiential components.

200 words

This includes a brief summary of the topic, an outline of the skills and knowledge that will be covered, and the expected learning outcomes

Round Table Discussions
(90 minutes)

One or two presenters lead a structured discussion on a specific theme, issue, or question.

Meetings of ISPA Committees that are open to all conference attendees should be scheduled in this format.

200 words

This should contain a summary of the aims and objectives of the round table discussion and the expected outcomes.
